Lend your witness to the sidewalk this week!

Welcome back to our travelers that attended the 2015 March for Life in Washington D.C. It was awesome and very inspiring to see the thousands of pro-life warriors "marching" in their peaceful, prayerful and joyful witness to the Gospel of Life. (We will try to get testimony from some of them to be shared in future e-mails.)

Lend your peaceful, prayerful and joyful witness to the Gospel of Life outside of Planned Parenthood this week!

The Prayer of St. Francis de Sales

Be at Peace
Do not look forward in fear to the changes of life;
rather look to them with full hope as they arise.
God, whose very own you are,
will deliver you from out of them.
He has kept you hitherto,
and He will lead you safely through all things;
and when you cannot stand it,
God will bury you in his arms.

Do not fear what may happen tomorrow;
the same everlasting Father who cares for you today
will take care of you then and everyday.
He will either shield you from suffering,
or will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace,
and put aside all anxious thoughts and imagination.

(St. Francis de Sales 1567-1622)

A Requiem Mass for the Unborn will be held at St. Mary's Pine Bluff at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22nd, 2015.  It is being held to mark the 42nd anniversary of the tragic Roe v. Wade decision.  The Roe v. Wade decision was a U.S. Supreme Court decision that made abortion legal in all 50 states. The decision transformed America overnight because all but a small number of states had bans on abortion prior to this decision.  There have been over 56 million babies lost to abortions since this tragic decision that was made in 1973.

Prayer for Life in Reparation for Roe v. Wade
By: Fr. Frank Pavone

God and Father of Life,
You have created every human person,
And have opened the way for each to have eternal life.

We live in the shadow of death.
Tens of millions of your children have been killed
because of the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion.

Father, have mercy on us.
Heal our land and accept our offering of prayer and penance.
In your love for us, turn back the scourge of abortion.

May each of us exult in hearts full of hope
and hands full of mercy
and work together to build a culture of life.

We pray through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

We are back and WE NEED YOU!

Dear friends of life,

Our web site (including the ability to send out this weekly mass e-mail) has been down for almost 4 weeks! We are so thankful that it was able to get fixed! We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused any of you.

This past week - on January 5th - Baby Silas was born!! Baby Silas' parents met three of our Sidewalk Counselors outside of Planned Parenthood this past May. The young mother's family was pushing for abortion while the young man's family was not. Our Sidewalk Counselors spoke with the young couple for many hours and life for their baby was chosen! Praise God! One of thes Sidewalk Counselor is still in communication with this young couple. They are in need of a gas card. If anyone is able to donate money towards this gift, please send it to: Vigil for Life, P.O. Box 499, Baraboo, WI 53913.

You can see a picture of Baby Silas on our Facebook page:www.facebook.com/VigilforLife. Please keep him and his parents in your prayers.

Prayer for the Unborn Child

Almighty God, our Father,
you who have given us life
and intended us to have it forever,
grant us your blessings.
Enlighten our minds to an awareness
and to a renewed conviction
that all human life is sacred
because it is created
in your image and likeness.
Help us to teach by word
and the example of our lives
that life occupies the first place,
that human life is precious
because it is the gift of God
whose love is infinite.
Give us the strength to defend human life
against every influence
or action that threatens or weakens it,
as well as the strength
to make every life more human
in all its aspects.

Give us the grace...
When the sacredness of life
before birth is attacked,
to stand up and proclaim
that no one ever has the authority
to destroy unborn life.

When a child is described as a burden
or is looked upon only as a means
to satisfy an emotional need,
to stand up
and insist that every child is a unique
and unrepeatable gift of God,
a gift of God
with a right to a loving
and united family.

When the institution of marriage
is abandoned to human selfishness
or reduced to a temporary conditional arrangement
that can easily be terminated,
to stand up and affirm
the indissolubility of the marriage bond.

When the value of the family is threatened
because of social and economic pressure,
to stand up and reaffirm
that the family is necessary
not only for the private good of every person,
but also for the common good of every society,
nation and state.

When freedom is used to dominate the weak,
to squander natural resources and energy,
to deny basic necessities to people,
to stand up and affirm
the demands of justice and social love.

Almighty Father,
give us courage to proclaim the supreme dignity
of all human life and to demand
that society itself give its protection.
We ask this in your name,
through the redemptive act
of your Son and in the Holy Spirit.

Amen.
