If you haven't seen last Monday's Pro-Life Wisconsin Update Newsletter, please take the time to check it out.  As you may have heard, abortion rates in Wisconsin dropped in 2012 to the lowest rates since Roe vs. Wade in 1973.  Listed in the reasons...."The increased presence of Pro-Life Wisconsin’s sidewalk counselors and volunteers, along with participation in campaigns such as 40 Days for Life, outside of abortion clinics helps women choose life for their child."

The newsletter continues with a heartfelt story, a first-hand experience of praying outside Affiliated Medical Services in Milwaukee, written by Emma Scuglik, Pro-Life Wisconsin's Development Director.  The horror and ourtrage of being misinterpreted as an abortion client changed to prayer and love for the misinformed who think they are helping women as they escort them into the clinic.

Open Hours This Week - Can You Help?

We will be on our "365 for Life" schedule until Wednesday, Sept. 25th, when our fall 40 Days for Life campaign will begin.  Can you help fill the following hours?

Tuesday, 9/03/13:  1 needed at noon; 2 needed at 1:00,3:00, and 4:00pm.   7 hours open!  Only 56% filled!

Wednesday, 9/04/13:  1 needed at 2:00pm;  2 needed at11:00, 1:00, 3:00, 4:00, and 5:00pm  11 OPEN HOURS!!  Only 45% filled!

Thursday, 9/05/13:  1 needed at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00pm

Open Hours For 40 Days for Life - Can You Help?

We are making progress in filling hours before the campaign starts onWednesday, Sept. 25th, but we still have a long way to go! 

• We need parishes and groups to commit to a weekly 2-hour time slot - only 4 people per week.  If many respond, this will be a piece of cake! 
• Individuals are also encouraged to sign up - Invite a friend or familly member!  We are especially in need of weekend hours to be filled - please consider what your prayer and presence can mean to a young mother who feels there is no other way than an abortion at Planned Parenthood!
• This year we are calling on men to pray out on the sidewalk in the evening and overnight hours, to step up and defend the familly.  Can you sign up with a buddy for a 2-hour time slot each week from 6pm to 8am?  Can your KC council commit?  Some have done so already; if yours hasn't, check the calendar and see what's open, especially on the weekends!  We're talking about a short-term commitment - only 6 weeks!

Kick-Off Rally for 40 Days for Life - Mark Your Calendar! 

• When:  Monday evening, Sept. 23rd from 6:30 to 8:30pm
• Where:  Schoenstatt Heights, 5901 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, WI  53718.
• Details: Come at 6:30pm for a potluck dinner; we'll provide the entree and beverages and you bring a dish to pass, if possible.  Then, stay for exciting presentations by Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council and Madison's own Steve Karlen of the 40 Days for Life National Team.  You won't want to miss this special evening!

Sidewalk Counseling Training Session

There is still time to sign up. Learn how to help women find life-saving alternatives to abortion!   

When:  Monday evening, Sept. 9, 2013, from 7:00 to 8:30pm

Where:  Bishop O'Connor Center, 702 S. Highpoint Rd., Madison, WI  53719  (A sign will direct you to the room.)

Fee:  We are asking each participant for $5.00 to cover the cost of printing materials.
