We have recently received information from reliable sources that Planned Parenthood performs abortions all day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Ash Wednesday is this Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent and spring 40 Days for Life campaigns in communities around the world. We are not doing a spring 40 Days vigil but it appears that the Holy Spirit would like us to pray in solidarity with those who are.
Therefore, we are expanding our 365 for Life prayer vigil to include the hours that Planned Parenthood is open on Tuesdays (9:00am to 5:00pm) and Wednesdays (8:00am to 6:00pm), the days they are taking the lives of the innocent and defenseless.
Please look at the open hours in the Vigil for Life calendar, especially on these abortion days and choose an hour or a recurrent hour each week or month. Lives are being saved by your prayer and presence! Go to vigilforlife.org/calendar/
What are you doing for Lent? This is the perfect time to answer Our Lord (Sunday's reading from the prophet Isaiah)....Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? Who will go for us? "Here I am," I said; "send me!"
Update on Abortion-Minded Mother
Friday was an amazing day!
The young mother who was scheduled for an appointment on Friday left Planned Parenthood and headed to the Women's Care Center instead. Her ultrasound revealed a healthy, growing baby, about 8 weeks along with a strong heartbeat. We are optimistic that things are moving in the right direction but she did make another appointment with Planned Parenthood for another Friday. Prayers are needed in a big way! We really don't know what decisions will be made in this situation in the next few weeks or months so keep at it. If it is God's will, our prayers will be answered.
More good news - we had another turn-away on Friday! A couple pulled into the Planned Parenthood parking lot but sat in their car for quite a while, never entering the building. After some time, they drove out, taking literature from a sidewalk counselor and asking about the free ultrasounds across the street. They went over to the Women's Care Center and, after a lengthy visit, left carrying information. Praise God for another turn-away!
Support came from those driving by - from honks, waves, and thumbs up to cars stopping to say thank you for being out there. Of course, the opposition voices were out too but they were definitely outnumbered!
It is clear that our presence on the sidewalk is making a difference!
