The Gift of YOUR Time

Christmas is approaching.  Our lives are busy and Planned Parenthood is busy taking lives.

This morning's paper contains an article on a law suit filed by Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin which states that the "requirements for medical abortions are unconstitutionally vague and should be struck down."  A state law, which took effect last April, may expose abortionists who perform medication-induced abortions to possible criminal charges.  Medication abortion involves taking two drugs within the first nine weeks of pregnancy resulting in the mother aborting her child at home.  The article relates that Planned Parenthood performed roughly 2/3 of the 7,019 abortions in Wisconsin last year.  THIS is why we need to maintain a vigil presence on the sidewalk!  If we're apathetic, this will continue; if we are steadfast, this will end.

Can you give the gift of your time to the babies, mothers, and fathers.....people you don't even know?  If we succeed in saving even ONE child, with God's help, we will give a priceless gift - a unique, nonrepeatable human being.

I saw the following story this morning, one which you may have already seen, but is perfect for those who may be weary and in need of encouragement:

There was a man who was walking down the beach, where thousands of starfish lay dying due to the receding tide.  In the midst of this, a boy stood, picking up starfish one at a time, and tossed them back into the ocean.  The man looked at the boy, and told him, "You realize that you can't possibly make a difference here, right?  There are thousands of them!"  The  boy looked back at him, threw another starfish into the ocean, and replied, "I made a difference to that one."

We have open hours tomorrow, next week, and the week of Christmas.  Please sign up and make a difference.....

Busy at Planned Parenthood; Many Announcements

Dear Friends,

Many thanks to The Servants of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Father Sasse for a wonderful retreat last weekend at Durward's Glen.  All who attended were blessed with thought-provoking meditations by Father Sasse, Liturgy of the Hours, Confession, and Holy Mass.  The meals were great and the accomodations comfortable.  Join us next year for this annual event to recharge your battery as you battle for life out on the sidewalk!

The parking lot at Planned Parenthood was a busy one last week.  Show the abortion workers your resilience and perseverance in the 365 for Life campaign as you did during 40 Days for Life.  We will not quit until they do!  Prayer for the babies and mothers as we await the birth of Our Lord is a beautiful way to prepare during Advent.  Can you go to vigilforlife.org and commit to an hour or more a month?  You can also contact info@vigilforlife.org.  This week is filled - Praise God!  Next week there are hours open on Wednesday, 12/12, and Thursday, 12/13.  If you can't come at the sign-up times, please come when you can; you may change a heart for life!  Thank you for your prayerful witness!

Empty Manger Caroling Scheduled for Wednesday, 12/19/12

Join us for the third annual Empty Manger Caroling on Wednesday, 12/19/12, at 5:00 p.m. on the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood. The purpose of this event is two-fold: to bring joy to a place of great sadness through the carols we sing and to point to the "empty mangers" in our day and age due to the destruction of abortion.
